Registration for the IAMMC Conference, 10 - 13 September 2025, Ingolstadt, Germany

The conference Material Matters. Powerful Objects in Medical Museums and Collections is organized by the Deutsches Medizinhistorisches Museum Ingolstadt / German Museum for the History of Medicine on behalf of the International Association for Medical Museums and Collections (IAMMC).

 

The conference fee includes coffee breaks and lunch (both vegetarian).

 

The evening reception (10. September, 19.00) in the German Museum for the History of Medicine offers the opportunity to visit the museum’s permanent and temporary exhibitions as well as the medical herb garden. Buffet (vegetarian) and drinks are included.

 

The conference dinner (11. September, 18.00) in a beautifully located Bavarian restaurant/beer garden offers a three-course meal with a variety of traditional dishes and beverages. Please select the non-vegetarian or vegetarian option according to your preferences.

 

Four guided tours are offered in the afternoon before the conference begins (10. September, 14.00) to make you acquainted with the museums and the history of Ingolstadt.

 

On Wednesday, 10.9., 14.00, you may join one of three guided tours to get acquainted with the museums or the history of Ingolstadt.

 

  • English tour through the permanent exhibition in the German Museum for the History of Medicine (DMMI)
  • English tour by Thomas Schnalke through the temporary exhibition "Heart of the Matter. Human Specimens in the Museum”, German Museum for the History of Medicine (DMMI)
  • English tour through the Bavarian Army Museum in the “Neues Schloss” (New Castle)
